Montkai Private Studio is our custom jewelry service for clients seeking one-of-a-kind fine jewelry designed and crafted in New York City's Diamond District.

Every custom piece begins with your story.

We create custom engagement rings, wedding bands, heirloom redesigns, handwriting jewelry, personalized fine jewelry, and one-of-a-kind pieces designed specifically for the person who will wear them.

Each commission is developed from the ground up rather than adapted from an existing design.

Through our trusted New York Diamond District network, we can help source diamond studs, tennis necklaces and bracelets, solitaire pendants, exceptional gemstones, and other classic fine jewelry beyond the Montkai collection.

We'll narrow the options and help you find a piece that's thoughtfully selected and beautifully made.

THE PROCESS

1. Conversation

Tell us about your idea, your occasion, or simply what's been on your mind. Whether you have inspiration images, a family heirloom, or just a starting point, we'll begin there.

2. Design

We'll explore concepts together, recommend materials and gemstones, and develop a design that reflects both your vision and Montkai's design language.

3. Refine

You'll review the design before production, giving us the opportunity to fine-tune proportions, details, and finishes until everything feels right.

4. Craft & Delivery

Once approved, your piece is crafted and hand-finished in New York's Diamond District using solid 14k gold, platinum, or sterling silver, together with carefully selected diamonds and gemstones.

Before it leaves the studio, I'll inspect it myself to make sure every detail feels exactly as it should.

Not at all. Many projects begin with a conversation rather than a finished design. We'll help shape the piece together.
Every project is different, so pricing depends on the design, materials, and gemstones selected. After our initial conversation, we'll prepare a proposal outlining the design direction and estimated investment before any work begins. Projects start from $750.
Most commissions are completed within 4–8 weeks, depending on the design and any stone sourcing required.
Not always. We intentionally take on a limited number of commissions each year and only accept projects that align with Montkai's design language and craftsmanship. If we're not the right fit, we'll always be honest about it.
Yes. Through our trusted supplier network, we source both natural and laboratory-grown diamonds, colored gemstones, and a curated selection of classic fine jewelry.
